Theyre making it crystal clear to me that they see the DT positions much differently. And I’m thankful for that.

McCoy is my favorite FA signing and Poe second.

In my opinion, a huge upgrade over Collins and Woods there.

so, at least thus far, you trust their judgement. Im much happier with their approach too, and feel fairly confident it will reflect on the field. Hopefully bodes well for a guy who appears to have been overdrafted at 58.

Oh yeah. That and the proven pedigrees of both players.

McCoy was a #3 overall pick and has been a stud his entire career.

And Poe a high first rounder as well and an amazing athlete at his size

And they got great prices on both.

I’m very happy.

I think Claiborne is by far the worst, and one of the worst in franchise history. You have to take into account where they were taken and what you gave up to get them. You can't even compare the #28 overall pick to the #6.

Claiborne did play out his five year contract, albeit just 47 with 43 games started. Claiborne was injury.

Taco played in 27 games with just 7 starts. Taco was doghouse.

Claiborne was spare as hell. The only time he was "good" was in cheerleader training camp reports where he mauled receivers in ways that never would be legal in a game. You could get a guy as good as him with an average free agent contract... like he got after he left here.

Claiborne is probably a little better player, but again, the draft position means everything. Plenty of guys picked fifth from the bottom of the first are average. The #6 overall shouldn't be.

Getting Claiborne at 6.... after a trade up and then selection over Fletcher Cox and David DeCastro, was infinitely worse than taking Taco at 28.

i myself am waiting to see what the new staff does with our players. I had such little faith in the last staff that i really cant blame the players fully for following orders. in that case. this will be a new year with a new staff and we ll see how players react and whats asked of them by the staff.

tho to be fair, i was happy for the Richard hire, but he was 50 50 in my opinion.

The truth is the previous staff in place was barely NFL quality. Garrett, Marinelli, Richard all took demotions or are out of work

Marinelli was here about 4 years too long. Thats inexcusable, and at the very minimum they should have kept him out of the draft process when it was clear the guys he helped pick sucked ass.

i will say this, i personally thought Rod would have been a bigger asset at DL coach. he really wasnt. he just seemed to have sunk lower and lower each year. goign to watch how the raiders do with him. Maybe it was us, maybe it was him.

i will say this, i personally thought Rod would have been a bigger asset at DL coach. he really wasnt. he just seemed to have sunk lower and lower each year. goign to watch how the raiders do with him. Maybe it was us, maybe it was him.

I think the problem was he just never added wrinkles to his D. There were never any surprises or gotcha plays even in the few big games we played in. He expected to line up and win playing his singular method of scheme.

I think that brand of D worked 15 years ago, but not today.
