You're like this guy in the Princess Bride who just talks about pointless bullshit in circles.

I am asking what has Dak done to earn himself a right to be counted in the group that can demand the amount you apparently think is near the top of market economics which is in the ranges of $35M according to some. Do you think he is in this group and if so why? The sarcasm and petty digs aren’t really necessary.

This has the feel of a parent (usually a woman) going through a divorce who initially goes into it telling her lawyer how she doesn't want to screw the dad over in either time shared with the child or money taken in child support and alimony, only to then allow the lawyer to dictate the situation and convince them that getting every penny and winning every battle is the only way to go.

If so, then this is not going to end well for the Cowboys as an organization even if they do get him signed.

Either they never agree on a dollar amount, or they sign him to a deal that we're regretting in a few years -- and this is coming from someone who believes we can win a SB with him and believes we should get him signed.

He definitely deserves roughly 32-33/year based on the contracts given to Goff and Wentz, anything the team is willing to give him beyond that is a trade off based on the risk/reward of keeping him long-term vs. potentially having to cut ties and trade him now.

I don't think he's the second, third or even fourth best QB in the league, but negotiations work a certain way in the NFL and if they want to keep him the price starts in that 32-33 range that Wentz/Goff got. That's the reality and that's the context in which I'm saying a fair compromise is in the 34 range, based on the assumption that the team isn't willing to start over at QB.

Statement was that any reasonable NFL fan would agree that Romo's better than Eli. My response is that not only will reasonable NFL fans disagree, so will the HOF voters.

Romo will never be a finalist, let alone inducted into HOF. Eli's being debated as a first ballot. Philip Rivers will get more consideration than Romo.

I've already exhausted my thoughts on Eli's candidacy.

Wentz and Goff have each helped their teams get to Superbowls, but you get the feeling neither are quite cooked yet.

Each team’s elite talent at DT was just as responsible for getting them to the big game.

Wentz only has 1 playoff game on his resume and guess what.... He got hurt after 3 passes.

If you want to say Goff has done more then sure. He has been to the SB once. Played poorly but got there. Personally I think it was a fluke but I guess we will see in the years to come.


I do think Simp has two comps right, though. All three have their warts but based on going rates of the position I think its a place to start.

As prolific as Tony Romo was, he had trouble getting past Week 17. Say what you will about the defense, but his offense only put up 6 points in the 44-6 Week 17 Philly loss. 14 points in the 2011, Week 17 loss. 18 points in 2012, Week 17.

Marino was recently named All-Time 100 Team QB, yet I’d take Aikman over Marino in a heartbeat. Id like to say Romo...Romo’s the better QB, but...
