Mendez: Jerry Jones says Romo is creative like Sean Payton

Did you have him pegged as a great coach?

Did you have him pegged as a great coach?

Nope. The only difference is I haven't been acting like I knew he'd be a great coach like all you asshats have been doing the past 5 years.

He's right. No one thought a fuck about Sean Payton until he won the Super Bowl. Amazing what winning will do. You just don't have a chance to succeed here with the way things are structured with a delusional used car salesman at the top and his dipshit son waiting in the wings probably praying every night for his deddy to die.

We don't have the archives, that is true, but yeah, I remember a ton of people hating on Payton.

That's not entirely true. It's not like Payton did that much better with the Giants. He was stripped of his play calling duties there before coming to Dallas. Even still when he came to Dallas he came with the boy wonder tag. I remember defending him against a bunch of you fags on this board though.

I do too. People were just as anti-Payton as they now are anti-Garrett.

Ha, none of you gave two shats about Payton when he was here. None of you said he would go on to be a great head coach. You were all underwhelmed when Parcells hired him after Coughlin demoted him. And when he left to become head coach of the Saints you were all kind of surprised. Trust me, I remember. F the archives. Admit you were wrong, just once.

I certainly never called him becoming a great head coach, but there were a bunch of people bashing him as OC here and I was not one of them.

I think more people blamed Parcells for the stodgy, old fashioned offense that didn't have halftime adjustments. The QB situation, and Rob Pettiti were big gripes as well.

One guy I did not like or appreciate till he left was Sparano. I thought he was worse than Houck, but Garrett has struggled scoring points since the moment he left and when Houck came back he was terrible.

While I don't agree with Jerry on this none of you were huge Payton fans when he was here so zip it. None.

I disagree but what does whether people on here were fans of Payton have anything to do with anything?

Hai guiz! None of you were fans of Romo before he became starter! None! So zip it! You can't have an opinion on anything to do with Romo or think he is any good now if you didn't forsee him as great the day he graduated college! So zip it!

:dunce

Seriously. What kind of special kind if stupid is this?

Ok...enjoy your bitch session...you totally schooled everyone.

It wasn't a ton but some of the more vocal ones.

I remember that as well and a lot of people thought the same shit. Too pass happy and his pass plays take too long to develop.

It's the same stuff. Any time a team isn't doing as well as people would like they will find ways to bitch about the play calling. No matter what play is called if it works everyone loves it and if it doesn't everyone thinks it was the wrong call. Of course sometimes a play just fails because the players on the field fail. With that being said Garrett isn't Payton so the defense of one doesn't necessarily set up the defense of the other. My problems with Garrett have more to do with the formations he chooses and the pace at which he runs his offense. I don't think he tailors the offense enough to the true talent of his offense.

My point is nobody on here thought Payton would be a great head coach back when he was with us. People were suprised that he was even being interviewed for jobs and then became head coach of the Saints. They were mostly indifferent to the guy. Then when he succeeds they act like they knew all along he would become a good one. People on here act like they know all things football and are the smartest guys in the room, so when they're all wrong I like to point it out. That's all.

All I know is that I wanted Garrett to eventually be our HC back when he was Troy's backup
