I am kind of curious to see if the Rangers may think of dealing Andrus.

Doubt that's an option. They signed him to an 8 year > $100M deal prior to the season. No team in their right mind would take on that kind of salary for a player like Andrus. That's going to be an albatross for the Rangers sooner than later, IMO.

The only reason his contract doesn't look good is because he is having a sub par year at the plate. The plus defense is worth it.

The Rangers might want to hold on to Olt though...Cruz will get suspended with the rest of the Biogenesis guys.

Olt won't replace Cruz. They just keep Engel Beltre up and bring Manny up.

But I think suspensions are going to come at beginning of next season.

It sounded like that was coming after the AS break.

I've read both. Just don't think they can push it through this fast. I very well could be wrong but that's just what I believe. If it happens in season its going to hurt. Cruz is having a good year and the ranger offense is inconsistent as it is. I did wonder if the rangers knew it was going to happen in season and that's why they took a flyer on Manny.

You guys will be begging for the return of Marlon Byrd in no time.

GIVE ME YOUR PROSPECTS!

LOL. I am a Byrd fan.

Hopefully this goes through. No telling if Olt will pan out for sure but the Cubs currently have a black hole at 3B (2nd overall pick in this years draft Kris Bryant may or may not project as a 3B...might end up in a corner OF position). Not crazy about the fact that he'll be 25 at the end of August and has proven jack shit at the MLB level, but from what I understand he's a good defensive 3B in addition to having a power bat. Fingers crossed that if he ends up in a Cubs uni he proves that his pitiful minor league showing in 2013 is an anomaly and related to the vision problems he was having.

I can't find anything else on these proposed deals...curious what players are involved.

So far its just this one guys tweet so it may just be a load of crap

My brother won two all expense paid tickets to New York for the all star game. He took his wife.

I hate him.

He just texted me pics from his seat. 6 rows up, left center field. I really hate him now.

Bro code foul.

I'm rooting hard for Chris Davis tonight. Be yet another guy who changes his swing for the HR Derby and gets it screwed up for the rest of the season.

:flip

That is from the GM of the Upper Deckers (aka, me).

Is it just me or is this theory about hitter's screwing up their swing during the HR derby a new thing?

Back in the 80s and 90s I don't recall it ever being an issue.

I've heard some analysts talking a little bit about it this week. Apparently there has been a study or two done looking into it and there isn't really anything to it. From what I heard it has been more a case of guys who had huge first half power numbers but naturally regressed to their mean in the second half of the season. Didn't have anything to do with wrecking their swing mechanics or anything. That's not to say that it hasn't screwed up a few participants here or there for a while but all in all there is no direct correlation.

Better be nothing to it. I have Crush Davis and Pedro Alvarez on my fantasy team.

They are probably ok. Both did little tonight so they probably stuck with their swing. My boy Cespedes though...:unsure
