The Great Police Work Thread

If you believe it is OK to use no knock raids then I don't know what fucking Constitution you claim to love.

As a general matter I am against no knock raids but I do think there are circumstances that warrant it. (No pun intended) :art

See, this is where you and the other retards are off the reservation. Who in this thread even one single time even inferred that they are okay with cops shooting innocent people? And, someone being okay with a no-knock raid does not make them okay with an innocent person getting shot.

It does however, make them ok with increasing those odds exponentially...

Iamttdg just cheerleads all the things that lead to negative policing, he just doesnt support the negative results..

In my opinion, no-knock raids are sometimes necessary. I don't, however, think they should ever be used for any kind of drug investigations or stings.

What else would they be used for? The only thing I can think of is suspected terrorists and local cops probably wouldn't be involved in that. It would be FBI or something.

The thing about this thread is it is not sufficient merely to say, "I think we should scale back police militarization," or, "I think police brutality is awful." In order to appease the Civil Rights Superfriends, one must post random articles from fringe websites and display adequate outrage (the greater lack of sleep the better) or risk being labeled "part of the problem." Feh.

You are correct of course but that is the results of total polarization circumstances these days. Objectivity and reasonable problem identification takes a back seat to mud on the wall and non contextual presentations. I suppose sometimes the process is so deep seated that the search for suitability is no longer the thing to be achieved. When this happens it's just a Donnybrook of words and diatribes.
Added. This can apply to either side of a disagreement.

Anyone suspected in a major crime who might be on the run. Murder, rape, child molestation, etc. There are still plenty of instances where it could be advantageous.

Are they going to flush the evidence of "Murder, rape, child molestation, etc." down the toilet???
You knock you identify yourself you wait a couple of seconds and if there's no answer you break the door down.

It's to keep them from running and taking the inevitable fight out into the general public instead of risking innocent people being put in danger.

Or entrenching themselves and taking a hostage or ambushing the police.

My IQ is higher than yours and I didn't drop out of college, but call me corky if it makes you feel better, Jim.

I highly doubt your IQ is even in my ballpark.
