2026 Random Cowboys Stuff Thread...

SF didn't have that much talent last year, Bosa and Warner were both out most of the year. I'd argue that we have at least as much, if not more talent right now.

They were starting rookies and UDFA types for large chunks of the year.
Saleh is one of those DC's who knows his shit and is a great defensive coach. He came back to help a unit out that had been following his own schemes since the late 2010's.

Parker is an acclaimed bright guy who never coordinated a defense coming to a group that isn't very talented and is certainly not playing well. It's a chicken/egg thing, you need talent and coaching and better talent improves coaching results and vice versa

In SF the machine had been built already, here it has yet to go anywhere. We have coaches learning on the job and greatly overrated and under achieving players. It's not a snowball ready to roll and grow, it's just muddy water.

If you are a cog in a well-oiled, highly productive machine, you are still just a cog. When you are transposed into another machine, you don't necessarily make the new one better.

Winters and Gary aren't guys who elevate others, hold them accountable, or lead through difference-making production. They were cogs in a wheel

They have each been transplanted from a Ferrari into a Fiat.

What you are describing, though, is a situation created by coaching.

I'm philosophically opposed to basically everything about this organization and how it's run.
Exactly.

I've always said if I didn't grow up here, dad was a fan watching them every Sunday, etc., I'd never root for this team. They are basically the exact opposite of everything I admire about a sports franchise.
