2026 Season | Week 4 | Gameday Chatter Thread | Cowboys @ Texans | 10/04/2026

Oh.... And put some respect on Quinnen Williams' name.

He's been damn good these last 2 weeks after everybody was asking what was wrong with him.
I wonder if he's getting a little healthier than he was. That first game (and the second?) he was hanging his arm at times like his neck or shoulder was banged up... don't think he did that today.

Lots of work to go on Defense but some positives:

1) the last 2 weeks our run defense looks solid. (Not counting qbs scrambling)

2)speaking of qbs running, i think we did a good job of playing lanes and angles today, to the detriment of our pass rush. Stroud can still move some.

3) Quinnen with some huge plays in the second half.

4) Downs really never makes a mistake twice. It’s pretty remarkable. Also his coverage is always tight.

5) we are pretty chaotic in the defensive backfield. Hoping that settles down some. The second half minus that fucking lateral on 3rd down was an improvement.

6) Gary looked much better today.

7) not defense, but damn CeeDee … have a game why don’t you.

Also I feel like they are deliberately trying to depress Pickens’ value and not throwing to him.

The Texans have given up 20 or less in two of their games, one against Burrow. The other two they gave up 30+ against Allen (MVP frontrunner) and Dak.

It's a shame this God damn defense is going to torpedo everything all year.
It actually seems like it might be worse than last year.

Haven't watched Crosby in a long time... yeah, he can still play.

My son had a hockey game today which I assistant coach, so I score followed and knew the outcome, but I’m home watching the game now and every time I blink Bland is letting up another big play.

He belongs inside as a nickel guy.

Nico is really really good. He's going to beat pretty much everyone a lot of the time.

Which is what makes the Downs thing kinda dumb.

Porter and Revel outside (when healthy). Bland nickel. Downs and Hooker, soon to be Downs and Thompson, at safety.

What is what it should be if we're putting our absolute best 11 on the field.

I don't think it is. It feels at least like they are getting some stops this year. The difference in my opinion is that our run game hasn't been right. So our scores feel quicker and it feels like other teams are getting way more opportunities with the ball than they should.

Again, I could be wrong. But it feels like the run defense is better and we are sometimes actually forcing stops. But I don't know if the stats back that up. From top to bottom the defense just feels more talented.

Our biggest problem right now is just that we have a couple massive liabilities. Steward/Bell and Winters. We need to figure those two spots out. But at least we have a LBer this year.
