Never expected to talk about tennis in this thread, but on US tennis... I played competitively as a kid, and it's amazing how popular tennis used to be in this country compared to today where it's basically a niche sport. The population of the country has grown tremendously since the 80s, but we have fewer top players than ever before. To me, it's ridiculous that these little European countries are so far ahead of us when we have 380 million or whatever people.

All this to say, I don't see how the USTA is considered anything but a massive failure. I really don't keep up with tennis anymore, so I don't know what exactly the hell they've been doing, but IMO it's a disgrace and I wonder if they ever get any heat for it.

I played until I was a sophomore. I used to have some trophies from tournaments I won in Junior High but have no idea where they are. Other than baseball, it was the only sport I was good at.
