2026 Random NFL Stuff Thread…

The graphic overlays several tweet screenshots praising Jacob Rodriguez’s Week 1 NFL debut. Here is what they say:
  • Adam Carter (@impactfbdataPanini Senior Bowl (@seniorbowl): Rookie of the Week. Jacob Rodriguez made an immediate impact in his NFL debut, recording a game-high 14 tackles, the third-most by any player in the NFL in Week 1 and the most by a Dolphins rookie since Zach Thomas in 1996!): Dolphins LB Jacob Rodriguez (LB3-Tier 2/High level NFL starter) has been the highest graded rookie defender in week 1 with an outstanding 90.3 PFF grade. He had 5 run stops, just 1 missed tackle, and a 56.3 passer rating when targeted. He also led with Dolphins in tackles with 14.
  • Justin David Kish (@JustinDavidKish): NFL Team Report (Dolphins): Miami Dolphins rookie LB Jacob Rodriguez will be the only rookie this season with the green dot, which will set him to be calling the plays. The Dolphins drafted the former Heisman candidate in the second round of April’s draft.
  • Matt Infante (@MattInfante): Here is what it looks like when you lead the entire league in your NFL debut in NextGenStats “stops” (defined as tackles resulting in negative EPA for the offense). Rookie LB Jacob Rodriguez had 10 of them on Sunday to lead the NFL.
  • NFL Draft Files (@NFL_DF): Jacob Rodriguez was EVERYWHERE in his NFL debut. He posted 17 total tackles, 5 stop tackles, and allowed just 7 yards in coverage on 3 targets.
  • Football Performances (@NFLPerformances): Jacob Rodriguez did not look like a rookie for Miami on Sunday. 5 SOLO, 9 AST. He was flying around all game vs. Las Vegas.
  • Joe Schad (@schadjoe): Jacob Rodriguez finished the Dolphins game with 14 tackles. It’s the most by a Dolphins rookie since Zach Thomas had 16 tackles in the second game of his career, in 1996.
  • Joe Schad (@schadjoe) quoting Dante Trader: “His poise is crazy. He’s very, very calm. His presence is calming to everybody else. To be a rookie, to go out there with the green dot, commanding the defense, and just being a dawg at the end of the day, it’s infectious.”
RAIDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Texans just picked up Kenneth Murray.

That guy was total dogshit for us last year and had one of the worst seasons by a Cowboys defender that I've ever seen.

If he goes to Houston and looks competent, that will be one of the most blatant indictments on the coaching or lack thereof in Dallas.

I'll be keeping a close eye on this one.
