Essentially, no more senior candidates all players will be considered together. The number of selectors reduced from 50 to 28. And no more assurance that at least 1 selector represents each market. This is an attempt to remove "unintended bias" and I would love to know what they mean by that (probably Belichick).

I wonder now what that does to the electability of older player like Harvey Martin now that they no longer have to wait to be selected as a senior. I wonder if there will be a concerted effort to get some older guys in.

They're saying they think there will be 3-7 people inducted each year.

You just knew there would be a fallout from the Bill Belichick thing.

But let's be honest, it was warranted after that blatantly disgraceful omission.

This is a guy who's in the conversation for the greatest coach in NFL history and I don't need to list all of his accomplishments because you guys are all very well aware of what they already are.

But for THAT guy to not get in on his first try, it's just disgraceful. I think whoever did not vote for him should have their voting privileges permanently revoked because these individuals clearly cannot separate their personal feelings from their ability to consider candidates for the HOF.

They did reduce the number of voters so I wonder if that's exactly what happened.

They did say this was supposedly a 2 1/2 year process so their thought process for making changes predates the Belichick voting. Still, it might have swayed their thinking.
