2026 Random Cowboys Stuff Thread...

Been saying this since the chatter started about a month ago - it makes sense if we're about 6-3 and look like one of the better teams in the NFC while the edge rush is kind of underwhelming.

In that scenario I could see it happening, but I don't think it makes sense to do it now and I don't think they will.

The timing is what matters. I do not doubt they will 24-7, 365 it until the trading deadline. Then perhaps the table will be set. Recall the Amari trade.

Yeah the thing is we don't really make the big trade deadline deal unless the team is not doing well. See the Williams trade last year and the Cooper trade you mention.

If Dallas is doing well, you'd like to see them add the piece to try to push us over the top but that doesn't really seem to be the way they operate.

But but people are sayin’ these Cowboys look different. And stuff.

Jerry has been known to try and copy things that other successful teams are doing. I could see him being jealous of all the press the Rams got. We'll see.

He even said when we practiced them that he might copy their model.

He has tended to do that. Before it was copying the Patriots (so they said).

Now I will say this, they have said fuck them picks for next year.

Doesn't even make sense. There absolutely are players that are not capable of learning a full NFL playbook. Has nothing to do with the color of their skin. It has to do with their intelligence level.

And to be clear I don't think Blue couldn't learn the playbook. I'm sure he did learn the playbook otherwise he wouldn't have survived this long. But that doesn't mean he was good enough at his job. Honestly fumbling was the one thing that freaked me out with him. I'd rather have a RB who gets 4 ypc but never fumbles than to have a RB who gets 5 yards per carry but fumbles once a game. You just can't afford fumbles on offense. They cost you points and give the other team points. It's a killer thing to have happen.

Exactly. Also his worst trait has nothing to do with intelligence, race, shoes or personality. His vision is outright bad. I saw it last year and again this preseason. He literally can’t see a deep, yawning chasm that is open to run through.

He can be a serviceable back (I guess…) but rarely or never do you teach running backs to pick the proper lanes to run through. It’s a feel thing and he doesn’t have it.

I would have liked to have a chance to see what he could really do as a receiver playing RB. But we never really got to see that. I'm sure it took place in practice. But I'm talking about the stuff you used to see Faulk with the Rams do. Line up at RB, then go in motion and run a route against a 240 pound LBer.

Again, that's what I was excited for with Blue. But we never got to see and now we never will.
