Part of the problem, and it was happening in real time that afternoon, is they have different people on the team talking to them who are telling them different things.

Not sure why I always had it in my head he was picked in the expansion draft but you're right. Guess I was pretty young back then and it was a long time ago. Funny how memory can betray.

It was very close to the same thing. He was a free agent who ended up an original Jag.

But the Eagles had already cut him before the season started a full year before, I think.

I guess he just needed that time to fully heal from all his injuries, and there’s nothing that lends perspective like being cut twice. He knew the Jags were his last chance and played like it.

It was not really about a personnel mistake.

This was an ugly case.

He sued the team after he received poor medical care (gave him Pepto when he had appendicitis) and subsequent surgery/infection. Then the Cowboys tried to hold his salary . He even came back from that then they wanted him to take a pay cut and he told Goof Son to fuck off.
