Milton played pretty badly against Saints. Probably did him in.

I don't like Carson at all, to be honest. The fact that we gave up a 5th for Milton and he was showing signs of developing, at least into a decent backup, and we're releasing him and have nothing to show for it is upsetting.
 
I guess Milton was more than a ticking time bomb away.

With the preseason he had, I find it hard to believe that some quarterback desperate team wouldn't have at least given us a late round pick for him.

Why outright cut a guy that legitimately earned his spot on the team?

Yeah, and once Dallas calls around on Milton, the other teams would know he’s getting released. Guess other teams didn’t value him enough to think he was worth securing with a pick.

I don’t disagree, but I guess you are saying that instead of taking a pick, they were just stupid and released him.

Maybe? There’s certainly a history. But they probably got no offers, in my opinion.
 
Wolchuk on the Fan is saying Milton asked for his release, probably after being told he would be #3 QB.

Broaddus said he was told earlier that teams were calling Dallas asking if they'd trade a QB and they said no. So maybe Wolchuk is right and they decided his attitude wasn't worth it. That is what happened at New England.

IF teams were calling about him. And Milton said please release me so I can go somewhere with a chance to start. Why the hell wouldn't you trade him to one of those teams? This sounds like either Schotty being a fucktard "too nice" or bullshit story.

I saw that but it was pure speculation. Personally I doubt it. Walker reported that they hope to sign him to the practice squad. I guess we'll see.





 
I know people love to think the worst at all times about this front office, but do you guys really think they'd just release a guy if there was an offer of a draft pick for him? Come on, now.

Then trade him to the highest bidder. If it's a team he doesn't like, too bad. He doesn't have enough skins on the wall to pick the team of his choice. The Packers got a 6th for Kyle "fricking" McCord. No way Milton wasn't worth at least that.

But at some point (I'm on the live youtube channel) I guess he hears back from people on text and says, "I'm good with reporting this." May have been after this clip.
