2026 Cowboys Cuts/Signings/Practice Squad Thread...

Watched Demercado highlights, not impressed. At all. Is that the best we can do?

Cardinals connection...

Not the ideal place to be looking for rejects. Granted I know he was cut by the Chiefs but he was sort of a turd with the Cardinals before that.

BS, he doesn't look better than Blue. And I didn't even like Blue.

This guy looks spare as it gets and as booze posted, is an idiot who drops the ball before the goal line. Doing a favor for someone at TCU?

Apparently so. He is ST and a possible 3rd down back since he is supposedly a good blocker.

Being able to block is the key, you can't trust Blue as a receiver out of the backfield if he's a shitty blocker.

Demercado is a decent blocker and is reasonably productive on small volume, 6.5 YPA on about 40 rushes a year.

So the guy isn't talented and is basically a retard like Blue.

Cool, cool signing bro. Hell he didn't even have to work for that long run and he still fucked it up.

He averages 6+ YPC on 40 rushes a season, obviously miniscule volume but it's debatable whether Blue will ever manage to do that.

The big key is he can block, the guy won't ever play unless there's an injury, but at least in an emergency you can rely on him to be passable as a blocker in tandem with Davis.

And I'd guess if something happens to Williams we'll try to trade for an actual RB, this is just churning the last few roster spots with a guy who is right now better than what they had.

Feels more like a dirty pet cat pickup by our OC rather than getting the best young RB we could. Guy isn't exactly a spring chicken either at 27 years old.

Does he play special teams because that would be my real guess.

Probably has a lot to do with Adams, but who else is out there?

Just like with Jones where the bar is "not a disaster", the bar here is very low and probably nothing more than "better than Blue/Mafah?"

The way some of you act there are legitimate starters to be had out there for a day 3 pick or on the waiver wire, all these players are different levels of ass, it's just about upgrading on the margins.

I have to say, who knows how good he'll end up being, but Schottenheimer seems to be doing all the right things. My complaint last year was he was a little too goofy and chummy with the media, but he's reined that in and seems more like a leader this year. I can't remember the last time a coach here was so open about basically saying a player isn't good enough the way he's openly challenging Steele.

Between cutting Blue and calling out Steele it's definitely good to see.

Yeah I'm surprised there's so much negativity surrounding this signing. I think he looks plenty good enough as a backup.

A proven commodity who is physical enough in pass protection. Similar to Williams in style that he can legit spell him without having to provide a changeup
