2026 Cowboys Cuts/Signings/Practice Squad Thread...

We kept Ameer Speed? I don’t even remember seeing him in a preseason game. Maybe that’s a good thing.

I'm very happy with the initial 53. There is no player that I really wanted to keep that got cut. If I just had to pick one that I was hoping would make it that didn't it would be Keegan. But, I would bet he makes the PS, so no big deal. It's obviously not the final 53, but I'm happy where it is at this point.

I mean I am kind of disappointed in Blue but I get it. I think we need to be hunting for a RB but we are a little heavy at OLBer and safety so we have room to adjust. Just liked that Blue was different than our other RBs.

Keegan I liked but the problem was Cornelius was also really good. And probably has a little more flex in a pinch. Keeping more than 4 guards was unlikely.

Didn't know he was hurt honestly. But not a bad thing, I think he needs some development. But I hate how those guys don't practice until their designated to return.

He had the groin issue, I thought he was back but honestly it's probably more as a stash for now.

Schoonerpooner is lucky Trigg has no hands

We purposely got rid of shit attitudes by shedding Parsons and Diggs. I'm happy to see that trend continue. But, yes, we need a RB.

I mean they propped his improved maturity a lot. Not sure if that was true or not. But feels like they could have seen that before they ever drafted him. And should have drafted someone else.

I lied. I did want to keep Julius Wood, but even cutting him I'm still very happy with the 53.

The only two reasons you cut a change of pace back like that (when you don't have another one) is either attitude or lack of athletic ability. Blue was plenty athletic.

No real surprises for me except cutting Blue, keeping Speed and cutting Leverett (PS lock probably).

Keeping Clark over Wood was expected for me given his ST experience, but I'm sure Wood will be on the PS.

Wheat making it was a slight surprise but I think he earned it in preseason. But keeping 6 OLBers is kind of a little thick. I was expecting 5 there.

6 safeties feels really heavy too but I'm sure 3 of those guys will play big roles on special teams.

If Liufau hadn't gotten hurt I think he'd have been cut and gone to the PS, but with Liufau out he'll probably be active as a ST'er.

Yeah and at the end of the day a lot of the decisions with roster spots past like the top 40 are going to involve how good a player is on special teams.

If I had to guess the 5 inactives early in the year will be QB3 (presumably Howell), Camden Brown, Drew Shelton, and two of the DB's, probably Caelen Carson and Ameer Speed.

If that's how the 53 plays out in the end, I would bet you are probably pretty spot on.
