2026 NFL Preseason Week 2 Chatter Thread | 08/20/2026-08/23/2026

Holy shit. That would have set the record if this were regular season. it's currently at 68.

Who TF is Brenda Song?

This is exactly why my daughter (as the result of how I raised her, sorry mom) goes ugh, women when she sees a woman announced. Jesus Christ, that is awful. It’s like listening to a mom cheer for her 5th grader from the stands.

She used to be on Disney shows and is married to the Home Alone kid.
She's not an actual broadcaster though, right? I assume she was just some dumb celebrity guest in the booth?

Luckily, it was just for one quarter in that one game from what I have now read. But the media is (of course) drilling all over her. When I get back to my laptop and not on my phone I will post some more face palming calls and excerpts on her.

Who wants to drill her?

Wait, people think that was a good call? :doh

I will do all of this in one post so I don't flood the thread, and I will only use one article because it's really not that important. but, I do think it's our obligation to laugh at her, and that little thing about me abhorring women being in the booth, especially for men's sports. So, here goes...

Social media quickly showed that the football knowledge was also something Song's character, Tipton, wasn't afraid to showcase either. :picard

In other words, don't ask Tipton what the gearshift is. But do ask Tipton, and Song, how to beat a Cover-2 defense on the gridiron. (I would actually pay to see her answer)

Song spent the entire third quarter in the Rams' broadcast booth. Here's a look at some of the highlights.

Moments after putting on the headset, Song had her first highlight reel-worthy play – a 25-yard completion from the Saints' Spencer Rattler to Jalen Moreno-Cropper.

Later in the drive, it was a big play for the Rams as Alex Cook jumped in front of a Rattler pass for a 100-yard pick-six. That would extend the home team's lead to 27-0.

Most of Song's appearance centered around casual conversation, especially with the Rams up big on the Saints. Later in the quarter, a similar sequence played out for the rookie broadcaster.

CJ Donaldson dodged tacklers for a 32-yard gain and a Saints highlight.

Song's debut earned some rave reviews on social media, even if she did let her Rams bias show. If she opted to pursue this as a career, her employer would likely want some more objectivity going forward.

Then again, it's the NFL preseason – a place where the weird and whimsy are supposed to live.
