That's basically what Sweden did, and their outcomes were no worse than anyone else and better than many.I mean the smart plan should have been and it was something I remember stating at the time, let the healthy people go out there and live their lives totally normal. Hide and protect the very vulnerable. Get basically herd immunity among the masses as fast as possible and the people who were actually at a high risk if they got sick, basically benefit from the result of the heard immunity of the vast majority. But letting nature solve the problem has almost no profits in it.
