2026 Training Camp Thread...

FWIW... Not very impressed. Maybe this is just what NFL practice is now -- that's probably the case. But it just didn't look like they were going that hard. Looked like more effort and intensity in the glimpses of some earlier practices I saw.

Few random thoughts after watching the practice:

-Alijah Clark seemed to be getting a decent amount of first team reps, Thompson was back today so I think Clark probably can be penciled in on the 53 given his ST ability
-Bass got lots of first team reps at LG, I think that probably means the LT spot is still up in the air, but Guyton did look reasonably solid himself with cleaner footwork
-Bass is also pretty much locked in as the backup center, he'd be a guy I'd try to extend on the cheap if possible, he could easily be a McGovern type who leaves and becomes a very solid starter elsewhere
-Liufau flashed a few times and mixes in with the first team, I think his roster spot is safe when you consider that he's also basically a core ST'er
-Downs is going to be a top 3ish player on the defense from day 1 basically, the fact that he can flash covering Lamb in the slot and also fill against the run is rare for a a safety, slot CB or any other kind of DB
-Revel had two really nice plays on Pickens in the end zone, Pickens somehow came up with one of them, but Revel had a nice diving deflection on the other, we might actually have some legit CB depth
-Saw 2 shovel passes to TE's in the red zone, I already know I'm going to hate those calls in real games when they inevitably fuck them up with sloppy execution
-Very curious to see Guyton in the scrimmages, particularly against the Rams, if he doesn't embarrass himself against their edge rushers I think you can pencil him in as the starter
