Each decade from like the 20s to the 90s had very unique culture (well, the thirties and forties kinda ran together cause of the depression and the war). But everything since the 2000s is basically the same here in 2026.

The COVID era will be a thing that people point back to. I feel sorry for my two kids. Son is 27, and shit changed halfway through. Do not get me started on my daughter, who just turned 21.

CSB time! I bought my first TV at Circuit City. I wasn't planning on buying a TV, but I had gotten engaged to this chick and (thankfully!) I got out of it before it was too late. Her mom was a complete bitch, and her daughter took after her momma to a degree and would have just gotten worse. I was lucky to realize it in enough time I could get out from under an eventual divorce.

She refused to give me the ring back, so I planned to go see her in the DFW area (I was already in Lubbock by that time) so we could have one last round of ugly bumping. When she left for work she told me to just close the garage door when I left. I found the ring and took it back and left.

I returned it to Service Merchandise where I bought it and was able to get my money back. I decided to buy a new TV with the money since I had never owned one of my own and had just gotten an apartment, so went to Circuit city and bought a 36". That motherfucker was heavy as shit. She never once asked me about it. I don't know if she never realized it was gone or knew that she should have given it back to me to begin with.

I too had a cunt fiancée that I financed absolute shit for.

Same with my son who is 21. That gap had a far larger effect than I thought it would.
 


The evolution was coax to RCA cables to HDMI, and I have used all three, as most of you have I'm sure.
