To me, Atlanta is sort of like the Joneses -- they like signing, even overpaying, their own to make themselves look smarter and to try to give the fans something.

I agree and when your franchise sucks, you want to at least have that marquee name you can market. The guy who is going to sell jersey's and put but in the seats.
