France has gotten something like 80% of its power from nuclear for decades now.

That's how you knew the whole carbon thing was a scam. They only wanted wind and solar but hated nuclear, the greenest of all. Wonder who makes all the wind and solar components?

Wind is a money-laundering scam, btw. I know I'm preaching to the choir, but I have a buddy that leased part of his land for 4 turbines. He gets paid $4 million a year on that lease and only surrenders about 2 acres of land total. $1 million a year per turbine, just for the land. Doesn't even include construction, maintenance, repair from birds and storms. You want to tell me that scenario ends in a net positive gain? GTFOH

Think I've mentioned him before, but look up Dave Walsh on the windmills and solar. He's a former power company exec who has all the receipts on how inefficient wind and solar are.

I actually think some day solar will be our biggest energy source, but the technology isn't there yet.

Yep. Just gotta figure out reliable storage and then distribution. But, that's easy shit. The problem with solar is the size of its footprint. Takes up a lot of room to make it worth it. But, that's another easy one. There are vast amounts of desert in this country that can be utilized.

I read somewhere where some guy was arguing against using the desert. How it could fuck up the eco system and the problem of it being so far away from everything.

He argued they could be placed on top of all the buildings in a city.

I admit I know absolutely nothing about the topic but it seemed to make sense.

Yes, this as well. There are places now that are building parking garages and the cover on the top floor is solar panels. It's smart really because you can market all of the parking in the garage as "covered parking" and get the solar out of it as a bonus. Solar has a future, we just have to figure out how to make it the most efficient. Because it takes a lot of room for harvesting.

At least it looks like they are kind of attempting to stop the socialists from taking over their party, but it's too late now. The Democrat party as we know it is gone and will never come back.

I thought SCOTUS ruled he couldn't unilaterally impose tariffs anymore?
No, I think they ruled that he had to remove some he had already put in place. That's my understanding at least. I could be wrong.
