Same amount from locals if he'd ruled the other way?He was going to be criticized no matter which way he went.

Since gambling is now out in the open, I guess leniency is the new way.
I didn’t know we have bleeding hearts in our judicial system here. Such a dumb ass reason to rule this way. From DMN article:
Kessler told the court the 22-year-old Sorsby has a diagnosed addiction and anxiety-driven compulsion. He said the quarterback was never motivated by financial gain in his gambling and never sought to alter or compromise the outcome of a game. Sorsby, who transferred to Texas Tech for a reported multimillion-dollar deal after playing for Cincinnati the past two seasons, recently completed a month-long residential treatment program for gambling addiction.
According to a clinician who treated Sorsby, Kessler said, not allowing the quarterback to play would hurt his mental health and impede the progress of his recovery.

I suspect it's more about being re-elected...I didn’t know we have bleeding hearts in our judicial system here. Such a dumb ass reason to rule this way.

Well yeah, but I was more talking about the whole, “it would interfere with his treatment for gambling” bullshit.I suspect it's more about being re-elected...
So I get inpatient treatment for drugs or alcohol. For gambling just feels weird. This whole thing seems like a bunch of bullshit. But I don't really care one way or another.
Feh. If he went to pretty much any lower tier program, he would be blackballed and forced to go into the Supplemental Draft. He was going to be criticized no matter which way he went.
Yeah…sure.

Yep. The integrity of the medium has been compromised. The continued downfall of college football.
Good luck with that, Prime Time.
I agree with him for once.
Which makes it even more noble what he's doing. He knows it will hurt the program and in turn his job, but he is standing on principle. I have to give respect where it's due.I do too, but I can't imagine it'll help recruiting.
