I've got a leaking hose bibb I was going to replace and turns out it's a lot trickier than it should be. :angry

It was so barely sticking out of the brick wall that I had to chip out some mortar just to see the connection. And then I couldn't possibly get a wrench on it. I finally just took a chance and turned it enough to unscrew it, but it could have broken off inside the wall. When I put the new one on, I put a coupler on it to extend it enough that the next person (or I) can properly get a wrench on it and be sure it won't break in the wall.

Now back to your regularly scheduled Tranny Talk.

Whoever plumbed that house should be beaten. I hate shit like that. You buy a new or newer house and expect it to be built properly and then run into shit that even a novice should know better than to do. My house has those little surprises sometimes and it's freaking aggravating. Hell, the pee trap in our front bathroom was only hand tightened. My daughter came into the living room one day and told me there was water under the sink in the vanity. Pissed me off when I realized what the problem was.

I don't care what color people are or where they came from as long as they're good, contributing, legal people who love this country.

But I read this book 20 or more years ago by a guy named Jim Rogers, a famous Wall Street investor who made so much money he retired really young and traveled the world on his motorcycle. He was always world-focused in his investing career and very respectful of other cultures -- anything but some jingoist. But one thing he emphasized is that no matter what differences the people in a country may have in background, skin color, religion, whatever, you have to have a common language or eventually everything will fall apart.

I always think of that when I see these things. I'm used to it in Texas but it's odd to me to see it so far north.
