2026 Random NFL Stuff Thread…

Spotify has the ability to have public playlists.

I'll have you know mine has two random likes. :NoDick
Oh. I didn't know you could make a playlist public. Shows how much I know about Spotify. Don't mind me, I'll just be over here sending a telegraph if anyone needs me.

She said this?

Man all the old NFL guys were hot to trot for that one.

"During his third season in the Mile High City, Payton helped guide the Broncos to the 2026 AFC Championship Game in January, where they ultimately lost to Vrabel’s New England Patriots. "

I never really thought about it but THAT'S an interesting dynamic and exactly why this level of relationship with a coach is really really inappropriate for a reporter.

I don't understand booze posting all this soap opera stuff, but then I remember he's a FWaW fan...

At first this was "soap opera" stuff, aside from the fact that I had been telling you all for years that Russini is a dirty skank, so of course it was hilarious from that perspective for a while.

But I think the bigger thing at play here is how incestuous and duplicitous the atmosphere is around the league, how it's covered in the media, etc. That's why Simms was fired and I think it's also why most of the sports media has chosen to ignore the story for the most part.

It's like this is just the tip of the iceberg for all sorts of salacious shit that happens behind the scenes and the league wants to make sure all the skeletons stay in the closet.

Yep, you only really hear about all the details when the league decides to make someone a sacrificial lamb. Which they have done in the past with players, coaches and GMs.

I wonder how they accomplish that. They must have some sort of an NDA with a payoff. Otherwise you'd think someone like Russini or Simms would take to some alternative form outside of normal media and air all the dirty laundry. Either for money, to keep their fame alive, or for some purpose. But it feels like the NFL does a good job of keeping this stuff under wraps even after the person is sacrificed.

Maybe things have changed, but I don't think anyone has ever accused athletes of being particularly faithful. But people used to see that as private and not our business.

Myself, I'm a faithful kind of person and think that kind of infidelity stuff is absolutely gross. But it still wasn't seen as something that should be reported on, at least not by sports media. Again, maybe things are different now but I don't see why they would be.

Players yes, but coaches with the female media reporters is a little different.
