Pick 92: Jaishawn Barham EDGE/ILB/OLB

The only problem is I still feel like we need a LBer. We traded for a guy, we drafted a guy and yet I feel like I really want to draft another guy.

According to the PC they're still looking.

James was decent enough for a rookie considering the circumstances as well, but who knows whether or not Parker likes him.

Yeah I just don't like James much. There are a bunch of LBers left that I like. The three fourths will be fun. But it also feels like I need more picks besides the seventh after that.

Yeah, there's gonna be players in the 5th that it's gonna suck seeing them sit there when our old picks come up and there's nothing we can do about it.

:cry

Hopefully we don't do anything stupid in the 4th and take solid players. That'll soften the blow.

When you get a talent like Dee Winters, you stop looking. Period.

More picks are always useful but after the 4th they'll have picked 6 guys, I'm comfortable with that.

If I can another RB and maybe a developmental OL like Lew or Bowry in the 4th, plus whatever else they want on defense I'll feel really good.

We are done. The roster is set.

All gravy tomorrow.

I'm more of the mindset I could use a corner, RB, WR, LBer and one Dlineman of some sort.

I guess technically we do have 4 picks left but after the 3 fourths it kind of feels like you're down to UDFA.

So I'm looking at Kaytron Allen or Emmett Johnson at RB and being thrilled.

Sarratt or Lance at WR (I want a fourth receiver on the roster for injury purposes and developing)

Abney or Muhammed at corner.

Elarms-Orr or Elliott at LBer.

Darrell Jackson, Dennis-Sutton, or Overton on the Dline.

Get me 3 of those guys please and I'll be happy. I really like all of them.

Thank you.

Maybe we can get two 5ths for the later fourth.

Reading Brugler's writeup on him in the Beast, I'm not overly excited about Barham. Sounds like he'll be a solid player but that he's a bit raw at the DE position and reading defensive keys isn't his strong suit.

Obviously he can improve in those areas with more reps and coaching, but my initial thought was we're getting Sam Williams 2.0.

I don't think he is as dumb as Sam Williams.

But with a late third this is certainly a bet on high upside and athletic/physical talent. The same way Sam Williams was a gamble on physical talent. Different players/positions but Barham may never become a full time starter but I do think he will be a useful player for the next 4 years at minimum. With the potential to be a starter at some point.

Williams is an edge rusher, they're going to use this guy more like Overshown than Williams.

You had to wake up and choose violence on a nice Saturday morning?

:lol

I'm hoping for the best like everyone else. I didn't know the player so I read Brugler's write up and I came away feeling meh.

But I'm now seeing the Cowboys will be using him more at LB so hopefully those flaws Brugler mentioned will be diminished.
