2026 Cowboys Draft Chatter Thread

Final answer, I probably would do that deal to move up just because that's so extremely cheap to do it.

But I think the discussion is academic anyway, because no way would it actually be that cheap. Even in a buyer's market (for moving up), someone would still offer more than a low-ish third. Probably much more.

Yeah I don't see the Cards doing it. So yeah, totally hypothetical. I do think you could see a discount for moving up this year. But not that extreme.

Here's another question, if we could trade down and get that pick in the low 20s to mid 30s, what about taking a McDonald or Hunter? Anyone surprised we haven't heard much about a NT type if we got a pick in that range? Clark isn't a spring chicken anymore and apparently the Charger FA is going to play some end.

Yeah I think there's probably a near zero chance that deal would even be accepted.

McDonald would be an excellent get there I think. I would certainly be open to that after a trade down.

I'd do it depending on the board for sure.

That guy has almost an awkwardly wide body. But that's basically perfect for NT. I'm not sure what Dallas is exactly looking for on the Dline. I almost feel like they want 3 guys who are all in that 300- 320 pound range. Basically three guys who could play NT but could also play DE. Not sure if they really want a "pure" NT. Which may be why we haven't really looked at any of the pure NT types.

Totally guessing though. We won't really know what Parker wants until an offseason from now.

When they play in base formations I think they are going to go with three 300+ lb. guys as the interior 3.

Basically 3 DT lineups to stop the run then bring the lighter pass rushers in for passing downs.

That's the impression that I get.

I think they might make an exception for a slightly lighter guy who brings some interior pass rush (Faulk obviously), but I don't think they want anybody less than about 270-280 playing as one of the interior 3 and we'll see plenty of jumbo "DE's" like Ogbonnia to shut down the B/C gaps.

Truth be told the only 30 visit Dlineman I know that is confirmed is Konga. And he sits right at 300 pounds.

I would do it for for either one of them. And, you all better be sitting down for this, I would prefer McDonald over Hunter. I love Hunter, but McDonald has the absolute perfect build for a space eater.

Hunter will be a better interior rusher than Faulk. As soon as you come to that realization the better.

Love is the best RB prospect since Elliott…so…

That dude hasn't "heard" anything. Come on. He has 2400 followers and his bio reads "NFL Draft Insider || QB Prospect expert || Husband || Father || Opinions are my own || PScouting Services of America".

I think the Cowboys finally broke Ernie. Havent seen anything from him in awhile.
Either that or he got offed by someone that put money on something that Ernie's sources guaranteed would happen and didn't. :unsure
