2026 Cowboys Draft Chatter Thread

So is this supposed bad character news on Bain ever coming out?

Or has anyone seen it? It's probably on X but I haven't looked.

It's being said that it was a car accident where he killed somebody and the family is threatening to sue him.

Sounds about right, it was alluded to that is was some sort of a suit, extortion for money thing.

Not really sure how something like that wouldn't be public news? That he killed someone in a car accident.

How long ago was the accident? I only ask because of the timing of the news leaking. If they sue for monetary gain, it should be based off his net worth during the accident. Not what it’s going to be in another month or so.

I think they were saying a year or two ago. But I don't think it would have anything to do with his net worth, more so what the victims could establish as their due compensation for their loss based on the extent of Bain's fault.

Like is this an unsolved case or something? I'm very confused.

You guys are going off on Faulk like he’s this compete non-factor. I don’t get it. Yeah, it would be early at 12, but at 20 a solid pick if we don’t trade down.

Because he was a non factor in college against the pass. Has no pass rush moves or pass rush plan. He looks stiff and tall. The only thing I can really see him do with success is extend his arms and shed to get the cleanup sack or tackle as the play goes past him.

Useful player but low impact. I'm actually surprised you like him. He isn't even close to 300 pounds.

Not a single person is doing that. Stating that we think he's being over valued on the hopes that his pass rush develops does not mean we think he's a 'complete non-factor'. Stating that we think that there are other picks that would help us more does not mean we think he's a 'complete non-factor'. Speaking only for myself, I do think he's going to be a good player. Possibly, even a great one. POSSIBLY. But I'm not willing to gamble on that if there are other players I'm more comfortable taking. Especially if they'll fill a position of need for us. If we do take him, I'm not going to throw a tantrum. I'll be happy that we have a stout run defender that will contribute right away. I'll HOPE he develops as a pass rusher. I'll also be disappointed thinking we could have done better with that pick.

Straight up, if forced I'd rather take Malachi Lawrence over Faulk at 20. Yeah... I know that would be a reach for Lawrence. But I think he is a more sure bet when it comes to the pass rush. More than likely never be as good as Faulk at stopping the run. But stopping the run doesn't get you drafted high. Taking down QBs does.

So why do so many scouts have him rated as a first round pick? Why was he Auburn’s defensive leader? 7 sacks and 2 sacks from a 6’6” 280 pound 20 year old often lining up at the DT position doesn’t suck.

I’m not in your face on this, I genuinely want to understand the disconnect. Literally no site has him as anything but as a strong first round prospect. They are ALL wrong?

I can tell you why I wouldn't take him in the first. His pass rush sucks. That's it. That's why. Great against the run, but his pass rush is horrid.
