This thread is long overdue. I'm ashamed of myself for not already starting it.

If that isn't the coolest thing I ever saw. Thanks Cotton! Wife says its beautiful. You are definitely far more talented than I am brother.

Brother, it was the absolute least we could do for the vets on our board. You guys sacrificed everything for this country. A small gift like this pales in comparison to what you have done for us. You are absolutely welcome, but I am the one saying thank you this time.

Oh, and I didn't do any of that. I couldn't draw a stick figure if you spotted me the body and head. That was all my wife. She is absolutely brilliant with stuff like that. She turned a blank piece of wood into that. She just amazes me. And, she was thrilled when I told her what I wanted us to do. She is a huge backer of the military, too.

Salute, brother. Thank you for your service. It will forever be appreciated in this house.

She is very talented.

She is very talented.
Thank you. Yes, she is. That is all hand burnt and painted. All I did was buy the 11X14 wood canvases, picked out the images (the eagle one roughneck got was my favorite), and then she went to work. Took her around 8-10 hours per sign/plaque. We were both just so glad the guys let us do this for them.

@Cotton just letting you know I received the gift from you and your wife. She did a phenomenal job with the artwork.

My wife and I loved the note on the back as well.

Thank you again.

Well deserved, brother. You have spent damn near half your life in the military. Like I said in the letter, there is no way to even begin to pay back that kind of sacrifice. We were happy to at least get to do this, so thank you for that.

Salute, brother, and thank you for your service.

@Cotton, just got home from work, and this was waiting for me. Thank you and your wife for this. I will hang it with my retirement flag and shadow boxes. Please tell your wife thank you for me. She is very talented.

Also... I noticed I got the old school helmet and boots, along with the draped cross and dog tags. You trying to tell me something...? :unsure
(Just playing. If I would have had a choice, that's exactly what I would have chosen. I love it)

First off, I have no idea what the symbolism is of the draped cross. But, I did know it was an old school helmet and boots. Read into it what you will. :unsure

My wife just read your post so she has seen your thanks and compliments. I can tell you, I had no idea any of these would mean as much as they do to you guys. It just came to my as an idea one morning I got up early before my wife. I knew what she could do, and I know how much she loves the military so I knew she would be as honored as me to get to do this for you guys. I ordered the canvas and had images already picked out before she even got up. So, to know you will put it with your other military stuff really makes mine and my wife's hearts proud. Thank you for that.

Just like I told the other guys, salute and thank you for your service, brother.

P.S. Roughneck's was my favorite image with the eagle, but yours was my wife's favorite. And yours was the first one she did. Apparently none of the 4 after yours impressed her to move them ahead of yours. We loved all of them. We just had our favorites.

P.S.S If you don't mind, would you take a pic when you have it on the wall with your other stuff and send it to me? I would love to see it.
