Good deal, brother. Thank you for letting us know. It was the least we could do.I received the plant/flowers that were sent today. Will do my best to keep them alive as long as possible. Really appreciate it. Means a lot.
I'm so sorry, brother. I wish there was something I could say that would make it a little easier but there isn't. Hopefully, once you get past the initial crap you have to go through, it will get at least a little easier. I remember losing my father in law, who was like a second dad to me, it was really hard for a long time. It did get a little better with time, but it never completely goes away. You just start shifting the grief to remembering the good times (as it should be). We are here, man. Just drop a note any time you want to get anything off your chest.It's been just over a month. It hasn't gotten any easier. I wake up(from whatever sleep I get) and my first thought is did this really happen? It can't be real. Same thing many times throughout the day. It's a mind fuck to say the least.
So much bullshit to deal with when something like this happens. Many calls with lawyers. Not only estate, but also litigation for potential malpractice. Insurance, financial, bills, now a one income household, wanting to sell the house, work, keep up with the house and yard, etc. The world doesn't stop when something like this happens. It's messed up.
I miss her so much. My day to day is upside down. We thought we had many more years of memories to make. It hurts a lot.
@Tony D
How are things going, brother?
Just a reminder, don't hesitate to seek therapy or any other form of healthy assistance that will help you get through this very difficult time.
Hang in there, bud.
It still breaks my heart that this happened to you. Honestly, I don’t know what I’d do without my wife. I’d feel completely lost.Just doing the best I can I guess. Still in disbelief honestly.
I'm officially retired. Might do some paet time work if I'm bored or want extra cash.
Focused on selling my house and getting out of this area. Moving to NYC.
Been back to my hometown in NY for two extended stays which has been good. Seeing family and old friends and making new ones. Getting some golf in.
Just figuring out my new day to day. Won't really figure it out until I sell the house, move and get settled in. Can't wait for that though. Been going on long daily walks to clear my head and get into some sort of physical shape.
Still don't have a completed autopsy and thus a final death certificate. We're going on four months now. Ridiculous.
Looking forward to the Cowboys season this year for sure though. Any escape is good and I'm optimistic about this season for some reason.
Yeah four months feels like an unacceptable amount of time to receive autopsy results. Receiving that extra bit of closure feels critical for the healing process in situations like this where a loved one passes unexpectedly.Still don't have a completed autopsy and thus a final death certificate. Thanks. It's rough. The world doesn't stop when something like this happens and I hate that.It still breaks my heart that this happened to you. Honestly, I don’t know what I’d do without my wife. I’d feel completely lost.

We're all here for you and hoping each day brings a little more strength and comfort.
