Like I don't really understand the pressure to get a deal done with Aubrey. You can pay him 5.76 mil next year. You can pay him 7ish mil next year. Or you can pay him 10 mil next year. Which one would you do?

A lot of people of a certain mindset out in the general fandom think Aubrey "deserves" it, that anything less than top dollar and the poor player is being oppressed, taken advantage of, etc.

Yeah, and from my perspective I could keep him at 5. Franchise him two years straight and its probably still cheaper than a 3 year 21 million dollar deal. So why bend to the will of a fucking agent? And why bother requesting 10 mil a year?
Now Pickens is different in my book. I could get his 29 mil cap figure down to like 14 if I signed him. He is not a guy I want having a 1300 yard year again ans then being forced to up his price by millions a year. He could go from getting paid 30-35 mil a year on a long term deal to asking for 40 a year from now. I don't want to fuck with that. I either want him for the next 3-4 years or I want to trade him now. The franchise tag should be nothing but a quick place holder.
