In the first I think that's a safe assumption. By the fourth or fifth round, I don't think it is any longer. Like I said there is too much variation from one teams board to another. There isn't nearly as much variation when talking about the first 10-15 pick in the draft. But the deeper you get in the draft the more variation there is. All I'm saying is by the fourth round, I'm taking BPA.
Sure you may have 2 guys left with third round grades. One defense and one offense. If they were closely ranked in the third round, you take the defensive guy.
And no I don't trust any NFL team to have their rankings that accurate. Which is why on day three when your odds of finding a starting caliber player are slim already, why would you be drafting for need over just getting the best player?
