God damn right.

Although Russini has been pretty accurate over the last year or two (you can let your mind wander as to why), so between this and Wingo, plus all the other chatter over the last few weeks, it does seem that they're truly going after star level players.

I'd still much prefer Hendrickson for nothing but a contract over Crosby for picks and of course a contract.
 
Conversely, it does seem these fools actually are going to go "all in", two years later.

I mean assuming both are healthy I think Hendrickson is the better pass rusher. Not to poop on Crosby but he has 17.5 sacks over the last two years.

Hendrickson only played in 7 games last years and still has 21.5 over the same span. Hendrickson is 3 years older which is the obvious downside.

If it was straight up Crosby or Hendrickson I would pick Crosby. But Crosby plus a first or Hendrickson, and its easily Hendrickson for me. But personally, I'd like to go younger and fresher with no pick in Mafeh or Oweh.

The obvious good news is that if any of this is true, the Cowboys really are going to go all in on fixing the defense and it's not just "Hope and a paryer" bullshit we get most offseasons.

Until I see real evidence of this I will keep the pompoms put away. I am hopeful, but still very skeptical. I will give Jerry credit for the Parker hire and the ensuing coaching selections on defense, and this offseason does feel different than previous years, but we have been burned hundreds of times before, so I will keep my homer side packed away for now.

I think there's a big difference between Oweh and Mafe. Oweh looks like a potential breakout star, Mafe is good and I like him as a solid starter, but just different levels of players in my opinion.

Yeah, I really like Mafeh. Always have since his days back in Minnesota. After he got 9 sacks in his second NFL season I thought he was about to take off. He really is a hell of a pass rusher.

But then the last two years he has trailed off. Last year he only had 2 sacks and was put into a reserve role. I do think if given the opportunity he would breakout but I can't explain that beyond him having one of the best pass rush win rates in the NFL last year even though it only led to 2 sacks.

Oweh is probably my preference but I think both guys could be excellent starters and the good news is they are both in their prime.

I was surprised to see that Crosby is only a year older than each of them, I think he's been in the league two more years than they have though.

But obviously the bigger consideration is having to give up picks vs. not.

Yeah its partially because Crosby has played 7 years (Gosh it feels like even more) compared to 4 years for Mafeh and 5 years for Oweh. Its why during the draft there is a dramatic difference between a 21 year old player or a 25 year old Mesidor. Mesidor would be older than Crosby when his rookie deal is up.

It's funny because I've since seen a YouTube video that had someone in the comments who also mentioned this rumor so it appears there's maybe something to it.
