Because they're assholes? Why would they even try?
That would be like us requesting Fangio.

I hope Dan Orlovsky is still in the conversation. They probably don't like their options currently.

He might be as much as they are struggling.I hope Dan Orlovsky is still in the conversation.![]()
Why? I'd assume it would only be a position in name only. And it's a guy he's worked with before and is familiar with. One who knows already how McCarthy does stuff. I'm sure Fat Mike will be the one designing and calling the offense.Lol Jesus, if that's the hire it'd be a very bad sign for them.

Exactly. McCarthy is running that offense regardless. He just needs a guy he trusts to delegate.
And that's the problem in my opinion.
I don't think McCarthy has his finger on the pulse of the more cutting edge offensive stuff that's going on around the league and he's mostly just going to run his 90's WCO with a few extra bells and whistles.
You kept saying that the entire time that he was winning 12 games a year here. He's way better than you give him credit for.
He'll succeed or fail in Pittsburgh based on his ability to get a quality QB there.
Because it'd mean McCarthy is in charge of playcalling and the offensive design and I think the game has passed him by to a large extent.
Sure and the offense often fell apart in the playoffs and against better defenses.
Come on down Jason Witten. Short stay at Oklahoma.
What is this based on?
His playcalling was quite good when he took it over from Kellen Moore and it resulted in a record year for CD Lamb.
Let's not forget that a huge chunk of "offensive" production from 2021-23 came from our defense putting up historic turnover numbers against shitty offenses with Quinn's boom/bust philosophy.
