Severe Weather Thread...

On my back porch this morning. We also have 3 foot icicles hanging from the eve of the roof.

We didn't get a ton of snow. I would guess about 3-4 inches total.
 
How much snow and ice did you guys get?

So, how will 6-8 and more affect the day to day activities up there? Down here 6-8 would close all schools and some businesses.
 
We got a couple inches of ice and only a few inches of snow. The weather people oversold another storm -- it's the norm now. I get that they feel they have to warn people, and we're in an age of sensationalizing everything, but they're getting to the point of crying wolf.

Yeah, they missed it pretty bad here, too. It was supposed to snow all night last night and only snowed until about 1 or so. Last night the latest was up to 10 inches. We didn't get anywhere near that. As far as danger goes, though, the ice is way more of a concern than the snow.

I just measured outside my front and back doors. It's about 6 right now.

And yeah, everything is shut down. Helps that it's a Sunday but it would have been anyway. Schools are already closed for tomorrow and my job just told us tomorrow is a work from home day.

There are schools already closing for tomorrow here as well. I'm betting Tech will close as well once the other universities start announcing their closures.
 
We've got nothing, but i've got a cord of firewood, 20 flashlights, enough canned food for several days, and five 5-gallon buckets filled with water.

Better to have it and not need it. Minus the firewood I keep about what you have on hand at all times.
 
Because I am bored, icicle update! I'm hoping it will get all the way down to that chair.

Canned food would have been a good idea for me, I didn't even think about that.

I'm not going to last long when the zombies come.

Yeah, I almost never buy anything canned.
