People were skeptical because of their QB. But the league is so weak right now.

Then again if the Seahawks play the Rams next week they could easily lose.

You can say, yeah but they're in the championship game which Dallas hasn't done in forever...but that's moving the goalposts. He said super bowl.

That's the exact opposite kind of formula Jerry loves here, which is pay a good QB a fortune, then do everything possible to make him (and yourself of course) look good while almost totally neglecting the other side of the football.

To be fair, most of the history of the super bowl has been great QBs winning it.

Super Bowl winners have mostly been Brady, Mahomes, Brees, Manning, Rodgers, Favre, Elway, Aikman, etc.

The Brad Johnson types are mostly the exception.

Their defense has definitely exceeded my expectations. Guess that's what great coaching can do.

Oh for sure, the real #1 dream would be to draft a Mahomes and go to championship games every year and win super bowls. But there's so much luck in that... You have to have a high pick in the right year, that guy has to be there, etc.

But for a team you can more realistically build, I like the Seattle type. Or even, hate to say it, what SF has been for years without a super talent at QB.

We know him and Parsons were at odds.

We know that Parsons and Diggs were 2 peas in a pod.

We have heard about the Al Harris was excusing the actions of Diggs. Covering up.

Maybe Lawrence had the correct stance and we should have been listening.

Yes but I'm talking about the fact that he didn't make a difference here and he's along for the ride in Seattle. He's was a prominent part of the defense that got it's ass kicked in the playoffs against Green Bay and his excuse was that they were tired. That doesn't sound like the right sort of attitude either. And that defense had Quinn and was supposed to be good.
 
Seattle's defense is all coaching, the talent is fine but it's primarily coaching.

Baltimore had an absolutely elite defense under Macdonald also and it fell off a cliff within two years with mostly the same personnel.

I just can see an angle where he was wore down with the culture that was allowed. Tired of fighting and gave up. Moving on has evidently been a good move for him.

It's almost like there aren't actually 500 coaches who can do these jobs well.

He had all of 6 sacks this year. Good for him for latching on to a defense that would be good with or without him though, I guess. But his performance was more or less what he was doing in Dallas.
