Also, even though teams like OU, TENN, Bama, etc. have been blown out in the past, the difference is going into those games people were expecting competitive contests.Which ultimately comes back to being competitive. If they arent then you arent going to get ratings going forward.
Totally lost interest.
College football used to be a sport where a student at the school played for 4 years before graduating. Now, it's just a farm team for the NFL, with many students transferring multiple times in their "career" and often only staying for 1 year at each school.
So, who really cares anymore? It's no longer "my school vs. your school" it's "my paid athletes against yours," for this year, only. This year's star may be playing against his team of last year or his future team next year.
Sounds like the NLF to me (or the NBA).
And, perhaps more accurately, it's really just donors who pay for athletes to pretend they are students and to attend (for a year) a particular school.
So, big deal. Who really cares about "college" sports anyone? Not me. I'm out....Don't care.

True, but it's way more mercenary today due to the portal. I mean, the Badgers just lost their punter. Their punter! He's not wrong for the most part, but honestly it's been mostly a farm system for the NFL for many decades. The best players have long left early and have been paid under the table.
I still laugh when they talk about the big jocks not going to class. Hell, they hardly went in high school.True, but it's way more mercenary today due to the portal. And now the non-playoff bowls suck because the better players drop out.Been saying this for a year or two, once people realize that college football is nothing but a shittier version of the NFL I think people will start tuning out a bit.
