The forty doesn't bother me, I've just never been a huge fan of his NFL prospects. Loved watching him in college, fun as hell at that level. I just don't think what he was doing will translate that well to the next level. And with all the talent of this RB class he just doesn't interest me that much.

Not a huge guy, not a fast guy but gritty and loves to run people over. Some guys are just college backs and not designed for the NFL.
He will find a role on a depth chart but I don't see a guy who should have a major role. Sort of how I feel about Deuce. Badass to watch in college but in the NFL he just isn't big enough, strong enough or fast enough to repeat what he was in college. Maybe he could have a role but we haven't found one and frankly it's probably not worth the effort to try to find that specific role.

John Riggins was a 4.6 guy.

Earl Campbell was a 4.6 guy.

Marion Barber was a 4.53 guy.

Jerome Bettis was a 4.7 guy.

Emmitt Smith was a 4.55 guy. (Yeah, that 4.4 you found was discounted)

You don’t need to be a burner to be a successful RB.

If he could be anywhere close to Marion Barber-esque It would be worth it. Especially if you don’t try to make him a feature back.

He isn't tall like Barber but that's a good comparison in terms of the way that he just never gives up on a run and loves to be physical and there is really good contact balance. Neither guy was particularly fast but their speed didn't stick out as slow either.
 
Barber comparisons are good. Scat would be a short timer in the NFL with that running style as a full time back. Parcells knew that about MBIII when everyone was screaming for him to be full time.

Yeah, I'm totally with him on Golden. He stood out the most to me. And he seems polished and ready to go, too.

Funny how much I agree with Cosell on his evaluations. Though I'm not as impressed with Martinez. But I really like how he does his own thing and doesn't get caught up in the latest "trends" on these guys.

Yea I've always respected Cosell because he does legitimate film work and doesn't just go along with consensus or the scuttlebutt at any given time.

Yeah I don't agree with him on the RBs as much but everyone has different taste when it comes to RB. I just think his comps were off and some of his analysis of the players were off.

I'm with you on Golden, I think the fact that I didn't think of him as a true burner is a good thing. The problem with most true burners is they suck as the short and intermediary stuff. They just know how to burn you down field. The fact that I think of Golden as great without 4.29 speed is just sort of that much more exciting to me.

Golden isn't big but he plays bigger than he is. He catches everything. So he sort of has that ability to adjust and catch balls that you expect from bigger receivers. That 4.29 explosive speed just shows up in different ways then burning people deep. Its just nice to know that he also has maybe potential to be even more.

The guy is 5'11" which is plenty tall. Size, catch radius, athletic ability kind of remind me a little of Odell Beckham without thee crazy. No one thinks of Odell Beckham as small but he is only 5'11". He just plays bigger than that. On the other hand Burden is 6 foot but he doesn't play that size at all. I honestly think he plays more like a short, athletic speed receiver.

McMillan is still my top guy. But Golden isn't far behind for me. It's actually very close. Then Egbuka.

After that I love the Iowa State kids. I really like Royals with those two. And I have guys like Burden and Savion Williams as sort of elite traits that maybe could be great.

I was going to try to rank the RBs for me but holy hell it's hard to do because there are so many I like. I struggle because I love Kaleb Johnson but then I'm like I could see Judkins being of similar quality here. And then I'm like, Ollie Gordon could be great here. And it just sort of keeps going for me. It's why I almost even struggle to pick a RB in the second. I start going, maybe see what's left in the third.

Do I want Hampton in the first, no I'd rather Kaleb Johnson in the second. But then do I want Kaleb Johnson in the second, if I can have Judkins in the third. And before I know it I'm like I wish I had a fourth to take Olie Gordon or Giddens. And hell throw Jordan James in there.

I could see any of these guys being 1000-1500 yard guys in the right system. The only one that feels different to me is Jeanty. He feels different. And even at that I'm not sure I want him in the first when I have those options later. But Jeanty feels like a guy at the end of his career who could be that productive over a longer period of time.

I think I could rank my WRs far easier. Or QBs for example.
 
It is kind of crazy how in this day and age of spread offenses everywhere that RBs are the deepest group in forever and the WRs and QBs are one of the shallowest (and overall worst).

We have had a number of years of WR being deep and really talented. So it's not shocking to me to have a year not up to those standards. Especially when it feels like thos was the year of freak freshman WRs.

RB is funny to me because RB has been good in recent years but this class stands out as even far superior to that. We wasted those awesome WR drafts, hopefully we don't waste this year at RB.
 
Whats interesting is I'd have a guy like Burden closer to Noel than Egbuka and Golden for example. But that's how NFL teams are. Their boards don't mirror the concensus. Some might have Burden in that top group. Someone else may have him as a third round pick.
 
Told you guys Golden was a straight baller before his stock blew up with his 40.

I never paid much attention to him early in the year but every time I watched Texas towards the end of the season this was the only fucking guy making big plays when they needed it in the passing game.

He may not play up to his 4.29, but just the fact that he has that raw speed combined with being arguably the best route runner in the class, plus being great tracking deep balls and making plays in contested situations, you don't see that very often.

Zay Flowers feels like a good comparison and he would go top 10 in a redraft.
