If you were (or are) earning hourly wage in excess of 32 dollars an hour, what would you consider a fair simple merit increase?

It depends but I would expect it to at least keep pace with the cost of living.

I havent had a raise in 7 years. I make a damned good living, but it gets smaller very year. I would be happy with cost of living increases.

A dollar an hour increase is three percent which seems fair, even a little generous depending on the work. $1.50 an hour is four percent, which seems high.

I do. I make a good living because when I am offshore I work 88.5 hours a week minimum.
