Maybe on the surface he's gone after Gailey, Parcells, Garrett, a recycled McCarthy, and now Moore, but since Parcells left it's ALL been about familiarity and comfort factor.

Jerry wants someone he trusts to not humiliate him. That is number one. Next, they need to be relatively inexpensive. No one wanted Wade Phillips, so Jerry had his cheap and subservient coach. McCarthy was also begging

As for the 'competitive' hires

Gailey - No one was chasing him but Jerry
Parcells - A great hire, but Jerry was truly desperate for someone to build credibility and in turn build his stadium. Jerry ruined it.
Garrett - Smart enough to cater to Jerry's ego first and foremost. I really thought this guy had potential the way he coached in 2007, but it turns out it was Tony Sparano all along. Jerry had him incentivized to undermine Phillips
Moore - Seems inevitable. This kid squanders talent but somehow has built a rep anyway. I don't understand it

Expected by whom? This is why my English teachers didn't allow us to use passive voice. It could be expected by internet yahoos.

Really feels like Jerry let Stephen have one HC hire, he didn't like the way it went, and now he's back to doing it all himself.
