I still think the offense should, and will, pick it up. No real reason for such a huge dropoff there.'

I don't see how the defense improves much, though, with one of the worst D-line rosters in the league. And we can't do much about that in-season.

I also agree that they more or less suck, but it's mostly because I think everything surrounding the team is so dysfunctional right now, aside from RB the talent level is more or less fine (when healthy). I think that makes random impressive performances like the Steelers game possible, perhaps even against SF, but ultimately it'll all fall apart because the environment is toxic this year.

I think the issues are multifactorial.

Talent and youth are the biggest issues.

The dysfunction of the team is harmful as well, but there isn't a major difference in their dysfunction this year compared to years past.

Yes on certain days and against certain teams they can move the ball, but even then it's an uphill climb more than you'd like it to be. They aren't without talent and they do have a top ten-ish QB.

But eventually the youth on the line and the lack of talent at RB and 2nd and 3rd WR will show up.

Hargrave and Hufanga, you could even throw Greenlaw in there but he was hurt during the Super Bowl last year.

Yeah, they're struggling, but they're more talented and much better coached than we are. They're gonna crush us

It would make a lot of sense given how flaky this team is, although I just can't see it unless Parsons plays.

We have literally nobody to rush the passer off the edge.

Yep, it'll probably be close in the first half as they are running it on us and wearing us down before they start running play action effectively and throttle us in the second half. I think we lose 29-16.
