The unfortunate part about Tiananmen was that it was so brutal and resistance was almost wiped from existence prior to COVID and then that made their surveillance society.
 
The really unfortunate part is that the USSR was collapsing and the world could have concentrated on collapsing the CCP in China as well. It wouldn't have been that hard at that point, either, with as small as their economy was.

But unfortunately the greedy globalists saw them as a way to make more money through cheap labor regardless of their inhumanity. So instead they got in bed with them, and now we have a monster that is too big to control.

Yeah, I hate people in general and can't stand large crowds, so hell to the no on that one. I can't even stand going to Walmart.
