Yeah, because he is now trying to cover his ass most likely. From my understanding they have confirmed it is her cousin.
 
It's laughable to suggest there would be a mistral anyway. They had one goal in this trial from the start and they accomplished it. They aren't reversing that now.

I'm starting to think this was intentional. If they have to retry the case it just prolongs things and keeps him in court longer. I don't trust that Merchan is "doing the right thing".
