The Chargers are the job that I think could be attractive. Nice weather, real QB in place and some talent on the defense already. I could see that being an attractive job for Quinn or any head coach really.

Panthers and Commanders are total train wrecks. You're starting from scratch and you better feel comfortable that the owners/GMs will give you 3 years to turn it around.

I can't imagine the Chargers not going with an offensive guy, though. One, they need to get the most out of Herbert before it's too late. Two, they're coming off a defensive minded HC who was a big failure.

That's the case with most of the openings, you never know what'll happen but Quinn just doesn't logically fit the profile of who each team will likely be looking for.

The Chargers likely won't want a defensive minded guy, the Panthers likely won't want another retread after Reich and will probably want an offensive guy to get Young going, the Skins won't want another retread after Rivera, so on and so forth.

Yeah just because they want to interview him doesn't mean they want to hire him.

So then why interview him?

He's not a minority so it's not like he's their token minority candidate.

What would be the reason to bring him in if you're not at all interested in possibly hiring him?

They will say it was them doing their due diligence.

To make it look like you cast a wide net and had most or all of the "big names" associated with your search.

It's simply to satisfy fans.

Everyone seems to think the Chargers job is Jim Harbaugh's if he wants it.

The Commanders are under new management and seem to at least have a solid plan in place to kickstart their rebuild. I think they'd be patient with whoever they settle on as their next HC.

The Panthers on the other hand are a toxic franchise. Quinn needs to steer clear of that job. If I were in his shoes I wouldn't even interview.

It is bullshit to me that teams can interview coaches before their season is over. It's a complete distraction. Wait until the damn season is over.
The coach does not have to accept.
