The thing to me is, you are putting the fate of the game in the hands of someone else. That doesn't seem wise. You can't always predict whether the defense will interfere, and then you can't always predict if the officials will call it even if they do actually interfere.

Seems like a no brainer to just try for another 10 yards or so and get to FG range.
