Dalvin Cook rumored to be released soon from Jets.

Don't care to. Seems too similiar?

I agree. It would be redundant.

Even if true, I think it would be worth taking a flyer on because a) he could potentially give Pollard some rest that they don't seem to trust Dowdle or Vaughn to do (perhaps because of pass blocking) and b) if Pollard gets injured again, 15-20 carries from Vaughn or Dowdle is not something I'm eager to see.

In those cases the similarities don't really matter. Yes ideally you'd want someone more complimentary but we're past the trading deadline now so there's not a lot of options.

I never would trade for Cook because he seems pretty diminished but for free I think it's worth looking at.

I dunno, he looks pretty washed to me. Nothing like what he used to be.

They should just give Rico more carries. I've bashed him before, but he actually looks classically decent when he gets a chance.

I suspect this is a case where Jerry wants them to give Pollard the majority of the carries. You know, because of Jerry's theory that he wants his money's worth out of the guy he's paid the most.

Maybe, but devil's advocate the Jets offensive line is pretty bad and on top of that defenses have no reason to respect their passing game. For free it's worth looking at to me.

Well that was just one reason. I think he is washed up and injury prone as well.

Amazing how fast these running backs burn out these days, and the running game isn’t a big priority in anyone’s game plan anymore. And even if it were, I don’t think Emmitt’s record will ever be threatened because these guys just can’t last.

That, and the fact the NFL touch football rules basically give out a free first down 6-8 times a game for phantom illegal contact/PI. Why run the ball like the old days? Just drop back and throw it. That’s what Goodell has wanted for years and it’s finally turned into that shitshow. All passing offense, all the time. People want to see TDs dammit!!

Exactly. Most NFL “fans” want to see 38-35 scores every game with literally no defense to speak of. Real NFL fans don’t mind games which end 17-14 or 21-17 if it’s due to great defense. But, we’re a dying breed.

It’s a shame because there’s so much engineering, poetry and brutality in a running play to appreciate.

Warring armies charging are among the most memorable scenes in a battle. Car crash videos are popular. The mass appeal is there, but the NFL chooses not to exhibit it anymore.

I’d love for replays to show a MLB or RB helmet cam and the chaos they have to navigate through to make a tackle/big run.

Hell, it could be done today if color commentators would Madden circle the MLB and RB and draw their lines to visualize the collision course about to ensue. AWS draws live routes for pass plays. Can’t do that on a replay?
