This reasoning was pretty retarded, and I'm disappointed in myself for reading all the way to the end.

The only interesting part of this was unrelated to Bellichick - the claim that Parcells in retrospect regrets retiring after the 06 season. I wonder if that's really true or creative speculation from Myers.
Myers has been a Parcells toady for decades, so it could be true. My question would be about the "emotional decision" to quit. I recall it taking like two weeks, which tied our hands in finding someone else. It's not like he quit in a huff the next day after the Romo bobble.

Like you said, Jerry isn't walking on eggshells again. And I think Stephen and Co see themselves as premier personnel men and won't give that up.

Finally, Jerry hates paying coaches and Belichick reportedly makes 20 mil per year. No way is Jerry paying that.

Fat Mike getting defensive. I’m baffled with Cooks being ignored. We gave two picks and were getting jack and shit from the deal .

When he had what most would say was the greatest QB ever, sure. His resume without him is pretty meh.
That’s the popular narrative since Brady won that Super Bowl with that loaded Tampa team, but Belichick was one of the biggest reasons Brady won so consistently. How many times did he cancel the opponent’s strengths on either side of the ball regardless of who his DC or OC were.

And I think McCarthy is missing the bigger point here. If this was an isolated game then yeah, it's weird to question Cooks' low production and targets. But this has been going on for almost the whole season, and we're just about halfway through at this point.

It's a very valid question to wonder why Cooks has been so unproductive.

I don't think it's all on Cooks either, because we've seen several times where Cooks has been running wide open and didn't get so much as a look from the QB.

It's definitely worth wondering about. Especially since more targets and production from Cooks could make the team better.

I also think we aren't playing at all to Cooks' biggest strength. We just don't test teams deep very often. I'd like to see more of that.

It’s more about what Belichick has done since Brady left the Pats. That, and of course, the current state of the Patriots. They’re in line for a top 5 pick in April.

McCarthy can't very well say that he's open but my QB doesn't see him.

I mean I get this. Although the Schoonmaker play had more to do with the shitty protection then anything. The Blitzer right in Dak throwing lane sort of forced the decision.

The Tolbert 4th and 8 pass play should have gone to the TE.

But these two plays aside, I would in general like to see more passes to Cooks. We need some guys making big plays besides Ceedee. Gallup ain't doing it.

It is pretty clear that they really didn't have a plan for Cooks.

He is not washed like what we tried to do with say, Randall Cobb.

Not just more passes, but down the field. His yards-per-reception thus far is down 30% from his career average.

Combined with negligible running game and Prescott seldom throwing the deep middle, tough for the offense when defense only needs to defend 1/3 of the field.

What has he done before and after Brady?

And what Brady did in Tampa doesn’t have jack nor shit with anything to do with Belichick.

Belichick's deal is that he doesn't know talent as much as he as always depended on his social network.

He is not an expert evaluator across the board. That is the lone thing about Myers' rambling mess that made sense.

We can get the talent in here. It is pretty clear that somehow we do.

When dudes like Noah Brown and Schultz are prospering in what is looking like a special offense in Houston, it makes you wonder.
I heard a statistic on the radio the other day that was pretty alarming... out of the 19 day 1&2 picks they've had since I think it was 2016, none of them have been offered second contracts. That's pretty bad.
