As an HR professional, I hate to state that the headline is true. She caused nearly four thousand dollars of economic loss to the company.

I'm not saying it wasn't bad but the headline implying it just happened is very misleading. It was 6 years ago. And it's what amounts to employee theft which is obviously wrong but I'd say is a different category than "scam". It sounds to me like she was maybe giving out employee discounts to friends or something.
