That's my whole point. When did we get to a point that just advancing the NFCC game is a solid season? Man, I miss the old days.

You would think.

What I will say is that this is the first season in my adult life where I truly believed we were legitimate SB contenders.

While I don't have total faith in the team, I don't have that waiting-for-the-other-shoe-to-drop feeling that I had for all of the Wade and Garrett seasons.

I think we have the team to finally get over the hump, but I'll still be nervous as shit come playoff time.

They were obviously a very good team but it was also obvious that they were benefiting from an abnormally healthy roster and that they kind of went all in last year and wouldn't be able to keep it all together.

And of course in the off-season they lost about half their starting defense and only credible RB.

I don't think my point was ever that they weren't good, it was that how last year was going wasn't sustainable and that we'd inevitably catch/pass them, if we were even behind them at all last year.

I certainly think we are a SB Contender this year. I mean we are a really good team and I think the NFC is pretty clearly defined. There are like 3 Superbowl contenders. 49ers, Cowboys and Eagles. And none of those other two teams are really that scary. So of course I feel like we are a legit contender to go to the Superbowl for the NFC. History be damned. Of course it's also possible that we aren't the team that makes it. I mean once you're in the playoffs there is very little margin for error. You screw up and it's over. Often times the best team doesn't make the Superbowl.
