He's right about that, that one person can make a decision faster than a committee, but you also have to factor that most people are wrong about half the time and Jerry more than that.

When we jump on a "steal" or "opportunity", we are most often wrong because one biased, desperate, egomaniacal, fan's opinion weighs so heavily.

There are almost never any successful shortcuts in the NFL, and JJ rarely meets a shortcut he dislikes.

The squandered second round draft capital alone tells the story.

This was done by a statistician who ran eleventy billion simulations, so I guess it's true.

The Eagles and Niners don't fall off, but we do. The Falcons win as many games as we do.

Where do they get this stuff? (Spoiler, 8.9 wins.)

Better than the ESPN one where we end up with the #2 pick.

If we are going to fail I would prefer this but considering we lost Dak to injury last year and managed to get 12 wins something really bad would have to happen for this to come true.

As long as we stay healthy we're winning the division and going back to the playoffs for the 3rd year in a row -- something that hasn't happened since 94-96.

How sad is that? We haven't made 3 consecutive playoff appearances since then.

Anyway, I believe in the direction of this franchise for once, and more importantly, I believe in the HC and the staff he's assembled and the culture he's built.

This isn't like most of the Cowboys teams of the past 25 years. In spite of the moronic family that owns the team, I believe McCarthy has created an environment that is largely conducive to winning and he's got a group of players that largely drown out the outside noise.

It's refreshing.

We win Sunday night and we're gonna win plenty of games after that too.

If Dak doesn't hold this team back, we'll be playing into late January.

Amen, @Texas Ace. The team is in a pretty good place. I don't understand the fans who want to fire everyone because we aren't the current Chiefs.

Those games Rush won last year seem tougher if the same thing repeated itself (Prescott going down after the opener) since our schedule is tougher earlier in the season.

They are imbeciles who have forgotten what what little success the Cowboys have enjoyed and how poorly the franchise has been run for the majority of the last 30 years.

I think it's ridiculous how the same Cowboys fans who watched us go through Switzer, Gailey, Campo, Wade, and then 10 fucking wasted years of Garrett all of a sudden are demanding that McCarthy get us to a Super Bowl or else.

:lol

I mean, this is the closest we've looked to a real NFL team since Bill Parcells was coach and you wanna send McCarthy packing if he doesn't make the Super Bowl when no other coach has done that since 1995? How is SB or bust the standard now?

What's more, if you fire him that means you're asking the Jones' to go out and hire another REAL football coach and then hope that coach can do an equal or better job than McCarthy has. Do you know what the odds are of the Jones' actually doing that again anytime soon?

About as low as the odds of the new coach coming in and finding a way to win in spite of that family.

I don't think people give McCarthy enough credit for what he's been able to accomplish with this organization where winning isn't first.

But then again, Cowboys fans on average aren't the brightest.

Definitely but a lot of us thought the season was over when he went down. McCarthy figured out a way to make it work despite having Kellen. I think we could possibly fair better this year.

And the Giants and Bengals were two of those teams, at least.

Fat Mike beat us with Matt Flynn at QB.
Yep. I was done with Garrett by that point but that game is when a buddy who isn't as serious a fan was done with him.

Matt Effing Flynn.
