I think I see what C rock was getting at. Stephen doesn't seem to be the narcissist type that Jerry is, and doesn't need to be thought of as the guy that does everything. He allows the people around him (see: McClay) to do their thing. And even if that's all we gain from Stephen one day taking over, it's still pretty substantial. But I'd be willing to bet we get more. Stephen just seems to me to be someone more willing to work from behind the front. As in, he'd hire an actual GM.

You guys get all bent out of shape over things being said to the press. But in the long run, who really gives a shit what Jerry or Stephen says, as long as they let the guys like McClay do their job. And in the last few years or so, it's been looking that way.
 
Yeah, I don't think it's any stretch at all to say Stephen is way better than Jerry.

Not that that's saying much, but he is.

That's exactly right. They both have massive flaws but Stephen is a tightwad who is more concerned about money than a championship. But he isn't a narcissist attention hog like Jerry who desperately wants approval and for people to give him credit. Stephen isn't the circus that Jerry is. He doesn't need to feel like every decision is his.
 
If Jerry had died 5 years ago I bet Stephen would've given McClay the GM title by now. Either way, he operates as our de facto GM, but if I had to guess the only reason he doesn't have the title is Jerry's ego.

I'm sorry but that drill just looks silly. There are trash cans lined up almost right in front of them. What exactly is the purpose? He is stutter stepping the entire time for what purpose? Maybe that's his freaking problem. There is a hole there, go through it. Instead he paddycakes his ass through the holes at glacial speed.

And you know what's funny? That video was designed to make a positive impression and yet it reaffirms why he's gone and should remain gone.

You see how many times he looks like he was gonna fall? And that right there is one of his biggest problems now -- he has no balance anymore.
